Athletica provides highly specialized design experience for sport and recreation facilities. By virtue of Athletica’s exclusivity to sport & recreation facility design, every new Athletica project builds on the experience of previous projects. We understand that sport and recreation facilities must serve both the elite competitive user and those who are seeking an active lifestyle but in non-elitist pursuits. In either case, more must be expected of these facilities because the users are expecting more from themselves. The sport facility’s design needs to encourage and enhance this atmosphere. It is the integration of Athletica's specialized experience that distinguishes Athletica’s design solutions.

In 1998, when Athletica was incorporated, we concluded that too many of the places where people play and watch sports did not look or feel any different than everyday places like shopping centers, office buildings or schools. We knew there were better solutions. Sporting venues should be made to express the exhilaration of speed, the drama of competition, and the excitement and energy we all feel as participants and spectators. Our most important attribute is the excitement and energy we naturally bring to sport & recreation facility projects. This is all we do, it is all we want to do, and we do it well.
We work closely with sport-governing bodies to better understand and deal with the technical aspects of sport and recreation venues. We talk to owners, operators and maintenance personnel to better understand their world. We have developed important relationships with our talented allied consultants and suppliers. Together we have cultivated a broad command of the methods and technologies needed to produce successful results.
We work on indoor and outdoor projects big and small. We understand that there are fundamental differences between the needs of a child learning to kick a soccer ball and a track & field athlete training for the next Olympics. We are open and engaging partners and we have a track record of successful cooperation with our client and consultant partners to prove it. Athletica is a member of IAKS, the international association of sport architects, and we strive to excel in this area of practice.
